Although the threat of Covid has not gone completely we are now resuming a more normal return to daily life than back in the height of the pandemic. When life was a little more uncertain due to the threat of the disease we agreed to allow the car park at The Hayfields site to be used free of charge to host a Covid testing centre. The club executive felt that it was an important way to support our local community by hosting these facilities. Our site was used extensively and we became the second busiest testing site in South Glos, hosting over 39,000 tests.

In October, club officials met with members of staff from South Glos Council in order to accept a plaque in recognition of the vital part we played in helping to keep South Glos safe during unprecedented times. Pictured accepting the plaque on behalf of Cleve RFC are chair, Simon Wilstead and vice chair, Lee Williams. We are very proud of the efforts we made to accommodate the testing site and in doing so supporting local people in our community.
